The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns have placed a pair of players on the Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference basketball teams.
Louisiana’s Jamyron Keller earned preseason SBC honors as he was named to the third team in voting by the league’s 14 head coaches and announced by the conference office.
Keller made two appearances last season before being sidelined due to injury. The guard averaged 17.0 points on the season, opening with a 21-point performance at Ball State before scoring 13 in the home opener against Southeastern Louisiana.
Louisiana, which produced the top recruiting class in the Sun Belt by 247Sports.com, returns five players from the 2025-26 squad – Keller, Jeremiah Evans, Todd Jones Jr., De’Vion Lavergne and Logan Myers.
Newcomers to the Ragin’ Cajuns include five Division I transfers – Mekhi Cooper, Trent Middleton Jr., Josiah Harris, Deion Ware and Dani Pounds – along with high school products Isaiah Wilks (Oklahoma City, Okla.), Tyshawn Duncan (Alexandria, La.), Derrick Florence III (Mobile, Ala.), Christian Bernard (Lafayette) and Mikhail Dulkay (Berezniki, Russia).
The Ragin’ Cajuns, which open the second year of the Quannas White era on November 2 in the Cajundome against Akron in the MAC-SBC Challenge, were picked to finish sixth overall in the league.
For the women’s squad, Imani Daniel was placed on the 2026-27 Preseason All-Sun Belt Conference team.
Daniel, the highest-scoring freshman in SBC play by average (12.7 ppg) last season, was a second-team selection. She produced over 300 total points and led Louisiana in rebounding (170) during her collegiate rookie season in 2025-26. Daniel also finished as the SBC’s top-scoring freshman by average in conference play at 12.7 points per game on 45 percent shooting.
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s team will play exhibition games on October 22 vs. LSU Alexandria and October 29 vs. Mississippi Christian at the Cajundome. Louisiana was picked 13th out of 14 teams in the preseason poll.
