New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers has picked up an honor.
The former Comeaux High-Southside High and LSU star was selected as the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. It is Nabers’ first career Player of the Month award.
Nabers recorded 36 receptions for a league-high 509 yards and had two touchdowns in October. His 36 receptions were the second most in the NFL in the month, and he was the only player to record at least 100 receiving yards in four games.
Nabers becomes the first Giants wide receiver to earn the honor and the seventh player to earn Offensive Player of the Month, joining Tiki Barber (three-time winner), Kerry Collins (December, 2002), Brandon Jacobs (October, 2007), Eli Manning (November, 2008), David Meggett (September, 1994) and Phil Simms (December, 1986).
Nabers also becomes the third former LSU player to win an Offensive Player of the Month award, joining Joe Burrow (two-time winner) and Justin Jefferson (two).
The 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie 9n 2024 and has set multiple records. Those include most games with five or more receptions by a rookie, the youngest wide receiver with multiple touchdowns in a game, and most target by a rookie in a season.
In seven games this season, Nabers had 48 receptions for 605 yards and two touchdowns. For his three-year career, Nabers has 175 receptions for 2,080 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Nabers left LSU as the program’s all-time leader in receptions (189) and receiving yards (3,003) and accomplished the feat in three seasons. Nabers is one of two players in Tiger history to top the 3,000-yard mark in receiving yards, joining former Rayne High star Josh Reed (3,001 yards from 1999-2001).
